About Pastor Chase Grogan

Pastor Chase Grogan, a native of Roanoke, Virginia, is known for his creativity and charismatic personality. Chase graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a minor in Psychology. As a proud Hokie, he found a much-needed community in The Impact Movement campus ministry, where he was thrust into leadership among his peers. Upon graduation, Chase moved to Boston to earn his Master’s of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, with a concentration in Youth Ministry. With a love for young people, he began working with incarcerated youth as they navigated their way back into the community. It was then that Chase recognized a deeper desire to make long-term investments in young people, which led him to Boston Public Schools. He went on to earn his Master’s of Education in School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling at Cambridge College and continues to serve as a Guidance Counselor at a public high school in Dorchester.

Chase became part of the Roxbury Presbyterian Church (RPC) family in 2008, right after moving to Boston, and RPC has been home ever since. He started as Youth Minister, and his leadership sparked a surge of participation in youth ministry from young people both inside and outside the church. At just 22, he was ordained as RPC’s youngest Ruling Elder. Over the years, he’s preached and taught near and far, served part-time as RPC’s Parish Associate, and watched this congregation grow and celebrate together, until God’s call to full-time ministry became impossible to ignore.

Known for his heart for others, a deep love for learning and teaching the Word of God, and a spirit that makes everyone feel welcome, Chase is excited to bring the full breadth of his experience to RPC, to help this community grow and continue to be a beacon of hope in Roxbury for years to come.
